The National Institute of Disaster Management (NIDM), the research and training arm of NDMA, has formalized a Letter of Agreement (LoA) with the Balochistan University of Information Technology, Engineering and Management Sciences (BUITEMS), Quetta. This strategic partnership aims to enhance research collaboration, promote knowledge exchange and strengthen capacity-building initiatives tailored to Pakistan’s diverse geological and disaster management needs.

The LoA was signed by Prof. Dr. Khalid Hafeez, Vice Chancellor BUITEMS and Mr. Tanveer Piracha, Executive Director NIDM. The agreement also includes collaborative opportunities for internships placements for BUITEMS students at NDMA to strengthen practical exposure and skill development in disaster management.

Following the signing, the BUITEMS team visited NDMA’s National Emergencies Operation Centre (NEOC) and the Centre of Excellence on Climate Change and Disaster Management, where they were briefed on the Authority’s advanced systems, technological capabilities, and ongoing resilience-building initiatives.
