The National Institute of Disaster Management (NIDM), the research and training arm of NDMA, has formalized a Letter of Agreement (LoA) with the National Center of Excellence in Geology (NCEG), University of Peshawar. This strategic partnership aims to enhance research collaboration, promote knowledge exchange, and strengthen capacity-building initiatives tailored to Pakistan’s diverse geological and disaster management needs.

The LoA was signed by Dr. Liaqat Ali, Director NCEG, and Mr. Tanveer Piracha, Executive Director NIDM. Dr. Muhammad Shafique and Dr. Saad Khan were also present during the signing ceremony.

Following the signing, the NCEG team visited NDMA’s National Emergencies Operation Centre (NEOC) and the Centre of Excellence on Climate Change and Disaster Management, where they were briefed on the Authority’s advanced systems, technological capabilities, and ongoing resilience-building initiatives.
