The National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA), with the support of UN-Habitat, successfully conducted a Project Dissemination Workshop under the Adaptation Fund Project titled “Enhancing Community, Local, and National-Level Urban Climate Change Resilience to Water Scarcity Caused by Floods and Droughts in Rawalpindi/Islamabad and Nowshera.” The event, held at NDMA Headquarters, gathered key stakeholders, including district authorities, policymakers, and disaster management experts to share findings from the Multi-Hazard Vulnerability and Risk Assessment (MHVRA) study for Islamabad, Rawalpindi, and Nowshera. NDMA presented critical insights into vulnerabilities, risk factors, and mitigation strategies, focusing on floods, droughts, and earthquakes to support informed decision-making at the community and policy levels.

A key highlight was the official launch of the MHVRA study reports, reinforcing efforts to strengthen climate resilience and disaster preparedness in these regions. The event concluded with appreciation for the contributions of UN-Habitat, district authorities, and stakeholders, reaffirming NDMA’s commitment to proactive disaster risk reduction and sustainable urban development.
