The National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) successfully conducted the National Simulation Exercise (SimEx) - 1 / 2025 titled “Summer Resilience” on February 26, 2025. This exercise focused on tackling four major summer hazards: Cyclones, Heatwaves, Forest Fires & Sea Water Intrusion.
This large-scale simulation brought together key stakeholders, including representatives from Federal Ministries, Provincial Disaster Management Authorities (PDMAs), Armed Forces, Humanitarian Agencies, Media and Academia —all working under a structured framework of exercise controls.
Through scenario-based decision-making, inter-agency coordination, and strategic planning, the exercise reinforced NDMA's proactive disaster management to mitigate multiple disasters. This initiative plays a crucial role in improving national contingency plans and disaster management strategies, ultimately ensuring better national preparedness in face of emergencies and climate-related hazards.
