National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA), in collaboration with key stakeholders, successfully organized a two-day Orientation Workshop on the Implementation of the E-Checklist under the Pakistan School Safety Framework (PSSF). The workshop took place on 24th and 25th February 2025 at the NDMA Auditorium, Islamabad, with the participation of educationists, disaster management experts, and representatives from partner organizations, including the Ministry of Education, UNICEF and the British Council.

The Pakistan School Safety Framework (PSSF) was developed to promote safe learning environments and enhance the preparedness of schools to respond to potential hazards such as natural disasters, fires, and other emergencies. The newly digitized PSSF E-Checklist is an innovative tool designed to streamline school safety assessments and improve disaster resilience at the institutional level.

The workshop provided an in-depth orientation on the functionality and implementation of the E-Checklist, guiding participants on its application for evaluating school safety standards. Experts highlighted how the digitized tool would facilitate systematic assessments, data-driven decision-making, and enhanced coordination for disaster preparedness in educational institutions.

The event concluded with a reaffirmation of NDMA’s commitment to advancing school safety and disaster resilience in collaboration with relevant stakeholders. The workshop participants lauded the initiative, acknowledging its potential to significantly enhance preparedness and emergency response mechanisms in schools nationwide.
