Participants of AARDO-AHKNCRD Collaborative Regional Training Workshop visited NDMA’s newly established National Emergencies Operation Center (NEOC).

The delegation comprising representatives from Malaysia, Jordan, Sri Lanka, Oman, Syria, Yemen, Palestine and Pakistan witnessed NDMA's proactive disaster management approach. Mr. Tanveer Piracha, Chief Coordinator NIDM, emphasized the importance of regional partnerships and academic discourse for effective disaster risk reduction.

NDMA Tech team lead by Dr. Tayyab Shah, showcased NEOC's technical capabilities in predictive modeling, forecasting, and Early Warning systems. The visiting delegation applauded Pakistan's commitment to preemptive disaster management. Ms. Alla, the regional representative of AARDO (Middle East Region) while representing the visiting delegation, praised NDMA's resolve to leverage technology for reducing disaster risks and it was underlined as a step towards a safer and more resilient region.

The visit was coordinated by Akhtar Hameed Khan National Centre for Rural Development (AKHNCRD) Pakistan, the AARDO regional office for Central and South Asia.
