He was received and briefed by Chairman NDMA Lieutenant General Inam Haider Malik, on comprehensive exposure of Pakistan’s indigenous state of the art disasters early warning hub - the NEOC. Lt Gen Inam and team NDMA apprised the visiting delegation about innovative proactive disasters management systems of Pakistan shaped by NEOC in last two years.
NEOC Pakistan stands out as miracle marvel of Pakistan, driven by all data inputs of global satellite feeds, software applications, and artificial intelligence tools. These resources enable NEOC to accurately predict natural disasters up to many months in advance.
This capability had all capacities to share with all neighbourhoods and co-opting nations for collective national & regional response to the Climate Change. Pak NDMA offered range of collaborative measures that can be initiated bilaterally and multi laterally to achieve synergy and interoperability with participant nations.
Lt-Gen S M Kamr-ul-Hassan, accompanied by senior Bangladeshi army officers, expressed explicit appreciation for Pakistan's proactive approach to disaster management and amazing model of NEOC. He highlighted brotherly relations between Bangladesh and Pakistan and underscored the importance of mutual coordination in disaster risk reduction (DRR). He immensely appreciated the facilitations and standards of Pak NEOC.
He endorsed proposed of initiating joint disaster management exercises (Comprehensive International Simulation Exercises) with NDMA Pak, to strengthen operational coordination. He invited NDMA officials to visit Bangladesh to foster greater collaboration between the two nations.
