NDMA held a Special NEOC Session to review situation and the Humanitarian Assistance package for Afghanistan after the 6.3 magnitude quake devastated villages near the city of Herat on Saturday, 7th October. Chairman NDMA, Lt. General Inam Haider Malik chaired the session which was attended by Pakistan’s Ambassador in Afghanistan Mr. Ubaid Ur Rehman Nizamani, representatives from Ministry of Foreign Affairs and other departments joined the session. 

Attendees were briefed about the situation in Herat, Afghanistan and the assistance that can be sent immediately to our brethren country Afghanistan in distress. NDMA has arranged to dispatch relief items which include; Food Items, Medications, Tents and Blankets. In addition to these items Search and Rescue Team have also been shortlisted and are ready to be dispatched.

Chairman NDMA stressed for swift relief assistance for Afghanistan and the assistance should be sent through fastest means available utilizing air and land routes to Afghanistan. He also requested for facilitation and coordination by all Government Departments and Agencies involved in the process. 

 نیشنل ڈیزاسٹر مینجمنٹ اتھارٹی نے 7 اکتوبر بروز ہفتہ افغانستان کے شہر حیرات کے مضافاتی علاقوں میں 6.3 شدت کے زلزلے کے بعد صورتحال اور افغانستان کے لیے امدادی پیکج کا جائزہ لینے کے لیے ایک خصوصی NEOC اجلاس منعقد کیا۔

چیئرمین این ڈی ایم اے، لیفٹیننٹ جنرل انعام حیدر ملک نے اجلاس کی صدارت کی جس میں افغانستان میں پاکستان کے سفیر عبید الرحمان نظامانی، وزارت خارجہ اور دیگر محکموں کے نمائندوں نے شرکت کی۔

شرکاء کو حیرات، افغانستان کی صورتحال اور مصیبت میں گھرے برادر ملک افغانستان کو فوری طور پر بھیجی جانے والی امداد کے بارے میں بتایا گیا۔ 

این ڈی ایم اے کی جانب سے جو امدادی سامان بھیجا جائے گا اس میں اشیائے خوردونوش، ادویات، خیمے اور کمبل شامل ہیں ان اشیاء کے علاوہ سرچ اور ریسکیو ٹیم کو بھی تیار کیا گیا ہے جو کسی بھی وقت روانہ کی جاسکتی ہے۔

چیئرمین این ڈی ایم اے نے افغانستان کے لیے فوری امداد کی فراہمی پر زور دیا اور یہ امداد تیز ترین فضائی اور زمینی راستوں کو استعمال کرتے ہوئے بھیجنے کو یقینی بنانے کی ہدایت کی۔ انہوں نے اس عمل میں شامل تمام سرکاری محکموں اور ایجنسیوں کو معاونت فراہم کرنے کی بھی درخواست کی
