The National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA), Islamabad, hosted a high-level delegation from the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) on 18 April at 1700 hrs, led by H.E. NuIran Yermekbayev, Secretary General of SCO, and Deputy Secretary General, Ambassador Sohail Khan. The delegation included esteemed Ambassadors from SCO member states based in Islamabad — H.E. Amiri Moghadam (Iran), H.E. Albert P. Khorev (Russia), H.E. Yerzhan Kistafin (Kazakhstan), H.E. Avazbek Atakhanov (Kyrgyzstan), and the Chargé d’Affaires of Tajikistan — accompanied by senior officials from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, led by Ms. Farhat Ayesha, Director General SCO. The visit focused on enhancing regional cooperation in disaster risk reduction and exploring the establishment of a dedicated Humanitarian Assistance Fund, along with other joint initiatives to strengthen collective disaster management efforts among SCO member states.
