The National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) organized a seminar titled "Disaster Resilient Infrastructure" at Bahria University Islamabad on September 23, 2024. In the seminar, experts from various fields, including policy makers and representatives of supporting institutions, visited Pakistan. Exchanged information and experiences for disaster prevention.
The seminar discussed important topics such as sustainable construction, emergency preparedness, protection against the adverse effects of climate change, and community protection. Emphasis was placed on where innovative models were also presented to make construction sustainable and stable in view of the risk of natural calamities.
The seminar was attended by key stakeholders including government officials, development partners, welfare institutions, educational institutions, disaster response and students from various universities including construction experts. All the participants identified sustainable construction as essential for achieving sustainable development.
