Acting Chairman NDMA presided NEOC session with key stakeholders on the current monsoon situation. The session was attended by representatives of PMD, FFC, PDMAs/SDMA/GBDMA, FFD, NHA, NIH, Provincial and Irrigation Departments, Tarbela and Mangla Dam Management, SUPARCO and PCIW. 

Acting Chairman NDMA reviewed the situation of damages caused by the recent spell, the situation of major Dams and the regulation of river flows during the ongoing monsoon spell. 

• PMD briefed about the heavy rainfall observed in the areas of Punjab, Khyber Pakhtoonkhwa and Kashmir and the expected heavy rainfall in the Northern parts of Punjab, Khyber Pakhtoonkhwa and in AJ&K region from 27 July to 2 August. 
• PDMAs briefed on the current situation in the respective provinces and highlighted the rescue and relief work carried out. 
• FFD reported that no high flood situation is expected in any major rivers. However moderate to heavy flooding is expected in the tributaries of River Kabul and Hill torrents of DG Khan Division from 27 July to 30 July. 

Acting Chairman NDMA instructed relevant departments to increase awareness among the masses in local languages about the remedial measures to be taken during the season by all relevant departments. He also emphasized undertaking encroachment clearance in and around river beds and vigilant monitoring of rivers and reservoirs.

قائم مقام چیئرمین این ڈی ایم اے نے حالیہ بارشوں سے ہونے والے نقصانات، بڑے ڈیموں کی صورتحال دریاؤں کے بہاؤ کا جائزہ لیا۔

محکمہ موسمیات پاکستان نے پنجاب، خیبرپختونخوا اور کشمیر کے علاقوں میں ہونے والی بارشوں کے بارے میں آگاہ کیا اور 27 جولائی سے 2 اگست تک پنجاب کے شمالی علاقوں سمیت خیبرپختونخوا اور آزاد جموں و کشمیر کے علاقوں میں متوقع موسلادھار بارشوں کی پیش گوئی کی۔

متعلقہ پی ڈی ایم اے نے صوبوں کی موجودہ صورتحال پر بریفنگ دی اور بچاؤ اور امدادی کاموں پر روشنی ڈالی۔

فلڈ فارکاسٹنگ ڈویژن کی جانب سے سیشن کے دوران بتایا گیا کہ کسی بھی بڑے دریا میں اونچے درجے کی سیلابی صورتحال کی توقع نہیں ہے۔ تاہم 27 جولائی تا 30 جولائی تک دریائے کابل کے معاون دریاؤں اور ڈی جی خان ڈویژن کے پہاڑی علاقوں میں درمیانے سے اونچے درجے کا سیلاب متوقع ہے۔

قائم مقام چیئرمین این ڈی ایم اے نے متعلقہ محکموں کو ہدایت کی کہ موسمی صورتحال کے پیش نظر پیشگی اقدامات کو یقینی بنائیں اور موسم کے ممکنہ خطرات کے بارے میں علاقائی زبانوں کے ذریعے عوام میں آگاہی پیدا کریں۔ انہوں نے دریاؤں اور ان سے منسلک علاقوں میں تجاوزات کو ختم کرنے اور آبی ذخائر کی نگرانی پر بھی زور دیا۔
