NEWSLETTER JULY 2024
As we navigate through the monsoon season of 2024, our commitment to proactive disaster preparedness and response remains unwavering. This month, we have made significant strides in enhancing our readiness and resilience against potential disasters. Ahead of the monsoon, a high-level meeting was presided over by Prime Minister of Pakistan, where we reviewed the current situation and outlined proactive measures to mitigate the impact of heavy rains and potential flooding. The Prime Minister’s directives have been instrumental in guiding our efforts. Under the Prime Minister’s directives, we convened three critical meetings of the Disaster Response Committee in a month. These meetings focused on strengthening coordination among various agencies and ensuring that our response mechanisms are robust and efficient.
NEWSLETTER JUNE 2024
NDMA has undertaken strategic initiatives in our ongoing efforts to enhance disaster resilience across Pakistan. Recently, we had the honor of hosting Prime Minister of Pakistan Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif and Mr. Bill Gates at National Emergency Operations Center (NEOC) at NDMA HQs. During their visit, we showcased our newly developed indigenous mobile application “Pak NDMA Disaster Alert”, which promises to revolutionize disaster response and management. This application provides geo-tagged alerts and facilitates efficient communication during emergencies, ensuring timely and effective coordination among stakeholders.
