National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) in collaboration with United Nations World Food Programme (UN-WFP) held five-day training on Multi-Hazard Vulnerability & Risk Assessment (MHVRA) at Balochistan University of Information Technology, Engineering and Management Sciences (BUITEMS), Quetta. The training aimed to equip participants with the necessary knowledge and skills to effectively assess and manage multi-hazard vulnerabilities and risks.
With the support of NDMA and UN-WFP, expert facilitators guided participants in utilizing advanced software tools such as ArcGIS and leveraging NASA's Satellite Feeds to enhance their risk assessment capabilities.
The training served as a platform for knowledge exchange, collaboration, and capacity building of participants. It played a crucial role in strengthening the disaster risk reduction efforts of NDMA and its stakeholders, ultimately leading to more effective and informed disaster management strategies.
Training was attended by Humanitarian Organizations, PDMA Balochistan, DDMAs and all other provincial Line Departments.
