National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) hosted the Members of the National Assembly Standing Committee on Climate Change and Environmental Coordination, along with Federal Ministers and senior officials, for a high-level meeting at NDMA Headquarters today. The delegation was led by Ms. Munaza Hassan, Member of the National Assembly.

Chairman NDMA, Lieutenant General Inam Haider Malik, briefed the committee on Monsoon 2025 threats, national hazard outlook, and institutional preparedness.
He shared insights into NDMA’s operational framework, including its early warning systems, resource mobilization strategies, and the role of trained responders.
Lawmakers appreciated NDMA’s technological advancements, such as its Glacier Monitoring Portal, seismic alert system, and public communication tools. They stressed the urgency of establishing a federal framework to support PDMAs and DDMAs, creation of a Special Resilience Fund, and engagement of the Pakistani diaspora in disaster response efforts.
NDMA proposed actionable solutions including enhanced parliamentary support for GLOF-related measures, establishment of a national resilience financing model and improved integration between federal, provincial, and community-level stakeholders.
The visit concluded with reaffirmed parliamentary support for empowering NDMA and strengthening national resilience against climate-induced disasters.
