In view of the late winter and early spring season, the Infrastructure Advisory & Project Development (IA&PD) Wing of the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) has issued an avalanche infrastructure advisory for the northern mountainous regions of Pakistan. The advisory highlights that rising temperatures during this period significantly destabilize snowpacks, increasing the likelihood of avalanches and posing serious risks to communities, infrastructure, and travelers.

The Infrastructure Advisory and Project Development Wing of the NDMA conducted a seminar on National Infrastructure Audit Program – 2026 on 7th January, 2026 at NDMA Headquarters, Islamabad. This post-seminar report documents the deliberations, decisions, and agreed implementation framework arising from the seminar. It sets out policy and operational recommendations for federal and provincial governments, regulatory authorities, development partners, academia, and the public to ensure coordinated execution, institutional accountability, and measurable risk reduction outcomes.

POST EVENT REPORT OF SEMINAR ON BUILD BACK BETTER: SUSTAINABLE PATHWAYS FOR POST-MONSOON 2025 REBUILDING

The IA&PD Wing of NDMA organized a national seminar titled “Build Back Better: Sustainable Pathways for Post-Monsoon 2025 Rebuilding” to reflect on lessons learned from the Monsoon 2025 impacts and to promote resilient recovery practices. Held on 5 November 2025 at NDMA Headquarters, Islamabad, the seminar brought together experts from government departments, academia, engineering institutions, development partners, and practitioners to deliberate on climate-resilient infrastructure, sustainable construction, land-use planning, and governance reforms. The discussions focused on translating post-flood experiences into actionable, policy-relevant recommendations under the Build Back Better framework, emphasizing resilience, sustainability, and coordinated reconstruction tailored to Pakistan’s evolving climate risks.
